Today at work my manager was going around saying “Happy Fathers day” to all the customers in the restaurant. Even if they told her “I’m not a father” she would say something like “well, even if it’s just a cat or a dog you’re still a father to someone. So happy fathers day!” and pretty much everyone would just give up and say “thank you” I watched her walk around repeating this for about 2 hours with that stupid smug look on her face. I decided to walk into the back kitchen and tell her that the last man she just said that to recently had his only two children die in a house fire and he and his entire family would probly not be returning to the restaurant. This was of course a lie. she stopped saying it to people and i felt bad for trying to kill the tiny bit of optimism she had for herself as a server and manager. I am a mean liar
I did give a homeless person my last slice of pizza on the way home from the bar though….. Does that cancel it out?
